Add more waste (15–20%) for diagonal, herringbone or patterned layouts.
How many tiles do you need?
Divide the area to tile (in m²) by the area of a single tile. A 300 × 600mm tile covers 0.3 × 0.6 = 0.18 m², so a 10 m² wall needs 10 ÷ 0.18 ≈ 56 tiles before waste.
Add around 10% for cuts and breakages on a straight layout, or 15–20% for diagonal and patterned designs. Always keep a few spares from the same batch for repairs.
